October 2026 Shoes
Happy Spooky Month to all! It’s scary to think we are almost in November but here we are! For this month we’ve got a in a bunch of different things from socks to boots across a bunch of different brands so this is going to be a bit of a longer post but I will segment it by the brand (use the navigation on the top if you want to see a specific brand.)
Bleuforet
Let’s start off with some socks. We got in some great socks for men and women with some options in Merino wool, Cashmere and silk with wool which all do a great job keeping the feet a bit warmer in the cold by wicking perspiration (technically during the summer the wool socks can also work well with the wicking property.)
Blundstone
We just got in the new Terrain boot from Blundstone (different from the all-terrain which we also got – prices are $279.95+HST for the Terrain Boot and $289.95+HST for the all terrain) which has a great tread that is similar to the tread from the XFR safety Blundstone. Whereas the All-terrain uses a softer rubber from Vibram but a little less aggressive tread pattern and both working great for all sorts of conditions. We also got in more Clay (Retail $275+HST at time of writing) which we had last year and a new colour called Teak (Retail $275+HST at time of writing) which is a nice light brown.
Bogs
I would rather not think about cold weather but we can only deny it for so long! Joking aside we got in our boots from Bogs for kids (will get adults ~November.) For this time we got in more of the Classic Seamless (Retail $110+GST at time of writing) which is rated for comfort between -34C and +21C and has a great traction sole for kids. We also got more of the Snowshell (Retail $79.95+GST at time of writing) which is a great option for people who want a bogs that can be tightened at the top (also rated to -30C.) The last but not least is a brand new model called the Boga Boot (Retail $89.95+GST at time of writing) which is a -30C to +27C comfort rated boot that is ultra-lightweight and great for year round play.
Brooks
This will be Short and sweet since for Brooks we got in some trail shoes only. For Women and Men we got the new Cascadia 20 GTX (Retail $219.95+HST at time of writing) which features a bit more cushion than previous iterations and a really great traction Vibram sole (new to the Cascadia this year since in the past the soles were done in-house.) For Women specifically we got in a new colour of the Ghost Trail (Retail $179.95+HST at time of writing) which takes one of brooks best shoe the ghost and just gives it a bit traction while being perfectly usable on either trail or road.
Cambrian
Cambrian is an anomaly in these days. For one, they are a traditional sole that is very dense for a lot of walking or for people who need a very supportive shoe. The second part which is unfortunately rare is that they are a Canadian company (designed in Canada but not manufactured in Canada.) The main model they have is the Ultra (retail $219.95+HST at time of writing) which features a boat load of design decision which are perfect for accommodating orthotics and hard to fit feet (including extra depth and a filler insole for lower profile orthotics.) It’s also been around for 10 years which is great because why fix something that isn’t broken. They have other models like the Breeze and Genesis ($219.95+HST at time of writing) which do tweak the density of the midsole and how much stability it built into the shoe but everything they make (including sandals with removable footbeds) have been a unicorn in the world of the soft thick soled running shoes (not that there is anything wrong with them but for people who need the extra stability or can’t wear the thick soles well built traditional options are getting harder to find.)
Cougar
Cougar is a Canadian Boot Company that has always been one of our favourites (especially for kids.) The main model we got is the Kids Tango/Toasty (Toasty just has the fur on top and both retail for $115+GST.) Either or is rated up to -24C and is easy to work with given it has the Velcro strap across the front.
Ecco
We were in need of some dress shoes for Men and Ecco was our answer for this fall. Specifically we got in the Helsinki in either slip-on or lace (both Retail $234.95+HST at time of writing) and it gives us a nice square-toe dress shoe that also has a removable insole and width insole for guys with a wider foot. For guys who want a rounded/pointed toe we also got the Citytray with a toe-cap or without (both retail $249.95+HST) which presents even more formal and looks great with dress pants.
Haflinger
It’s slipper time! Haflingers are an amazing German Slipper that uses a great cork footbed and a cozy felt (wool) upper. For this fall we decided to show a bit more colour with the GZ ($189.95+HST at time of writing) which has a really cool felt band around the instep or the zigzag ($189.95+HST at time of writing.) We also got the classic GZL and Magic (both $194.95+HST at time of writing.) GZL replaces the felt band with leather which holds the foot a bit more snug than the felt and the magic has a cool two tone look with an elastic band across the instep.
Hoka
Just like Brooks Hoka will be a bit of a quick one since we got Trail Shoes for this run. Specifically for guys we got in the Clifton 11 GTX (retail $204.95+HST at time of writing) which this year features a nice burgundy, the toggle for quick and easy adjustment and the Gore-Tex to keep the feet dry. For the Women’s shoe height we did the Speedgoat 7 GTX (retail $209.95+HST at time of writing) which has a great Vibram sole on top of the benefits that the Clifton 11 GTX had. For both Men’s and Women’s we did the Speedgoat 7 GTX Mid (retail $249.95+HST at time of writing.) Which gives us a great hiking/fall-spring boot that uses the same Vibram sole that the lower height Speedgoat uses.
Keen Utility
For Guys who need a safety boot with laces we got in the Keen Safety boots which have been amazing for us. They fit nice for width, have good cushion and great arch-support while being fairly light since they use a carbon fiber toe. The two main models we always carry are the Hamilton (6″ boot and $284.95+HST at time of writing) and the Camden (8″ boot and $309.95+HST at time of writing.) But for this fall a new model we decided to carry is the Oshawa Side-Zip+ (8″ Boot and $309.95+HST at time of writing.) What’s nice about the Oshawa is that much lighter than the Camden and features both the Polar Traction sole (the rubber with the yellow spots which maintains flexibility in freezing conditions for better ice traction, as always ice is ice) and a zipper on the inside of the foot for quick in and out.
Kizik
We got some really cool stuff from Kizik. For people who aren’t aware of Kizik, Kizik is a company that makes shoes that are completely hands-free and for the fall they have made a waterproof Chelsea boot (Sierra Chelsea $279.95+HST at time of writing) which is really cool but what is even more cool is they make a hiking boot with the same technology. The Freedom Hike Mid ($289.95+HST at time of writing) has adjustment with laces but once the laces are set then just step right in.
Merrell
We’ve refreshed some of our hiking shoes/boots from Merrell. Specifically for Men we got more of the Nova WP (retail $179.95+HST at time of writing) which is a great trail/everyday waterproof running shoe or the MOAB 3 MID WP (retail $199.95+HST at time of writing) for more serious wear. For Women we got in the Speed Strike MID WP (Retail $179.95+HST at time of writing) which has served us well (my sister used a pair for hiking Machu Pichu in Peru and loved them.) We are expecting for November some of Merrell’s winter shoes and boots and will post about them when we get them!
Olukai
Say Aloha to some slippers cause we got some from Olukai! For Men we just did the Moloa Slipper this year (Retail $179.95+HST at time of writing) which has a beautiful shearling lining throughout the slipper and is a nice soft leather on the outside. We also tackled the Women’s version of it this year (same price as the men’s) since we had some call for it. The other thing we are going to try is the Kipe’A Malie (Retail $179.95+HST at time of writing.) which gives us a open back slipper for Women as well.
Saucony
I’m going to keep this one short and simple since we got in a great trail shoe for men and women for the fall. Specifically we got in the Ride TR3 GTX (Retail $219.95+HST at time of writing) which is light, soft cushioned and great traction for the fall while being waterproof.
Sorel
Again I don’t really want to think about winter but at least we are prepared for it! We got in a collection of things from Sorel which includes kids boots, adults boots and slippers. For kids boots we got in our favourites: the Snow Commander (retail $79.95+GST at time of writing) which is our favourite easy to work with toddlers boot (that also now goes bigger in size than before) and the Yoot Pac/Caribou for bigger kids (Yoot Pac is $119.95+GST at time of writing and Caribou $149.95+GST at time of writing.) What’s nice for the bigger kids with Sorel is that they have the removable liner which is easy to work with. The final kids boot we are lightly trying is the Kids Whitney III Mid which gives us a great winter boot that looks a bit more stylish for kids (we did also get the adults version which the kids is $99.95+GST and the adults tall is $169.95+HST at time of writing.) Aside from boots we got some slippers for men, specifically the Falcon Ridge III for a lower cut slipper or the Manwan III for a bit of a taller slipper ($119.95+HST for Falcon and $139.95+HST for Manwan at time of writing.)
Vionic
Really short and sweet since for Vionic the only new thing we got since the last time is a new Chelsea boot called the Georgina (Retail $224.95+HST at time of writing.) The Georgina features a zipper on the side and the usual great Vionic arch support.
Concluding Message
Thank you if you managed to make it this far and especially if you decided to read everything I wrote. There is more to say but this post is long enough (we got some new lines which I will showcase tomorrow or whenever I get the chance.) Regardless, Happy Halloween to all and hopefully the weather has been good for all!
