Bogs Kids Winter 2025

Well first it was sorel and now it’s Bogs, although with how it has started to cool down I think the boots are more warranted. For people that haven’t had bogs they offer either non-insulated rubber-esque boot or insulated. For now we have some non-insulated but in this shipment we got our hit of kids options in the insulated category.

Here’s what came in:

Classic-Seamless (Boys/Girls): The Classic-Seamless is a brand new style this year that takes the classic, lightens it up like the neo-classic and upgrades the sole to have more traction. What I like about any of the three I just mentioned is they work very well for winter since they are a nice height and keep the feet warm but can also be used beyond as a three season boot. Temperature wise the seamless is rated at a comfort level from -34C -> +21C (it’s neat since they used to only print the temperature rating for the negative side and now print both on the boxes.) That being said, temperature rating can always have some variation from person-person but I do know that the pair I have has worked very well for keeping warm in winter and for washing cars in summer.

Snow Shell (Boys/Girls): The Snow Shell is a great boot for people who like the practicality of bogs but want some adjustment for the cuff of the boot. The Snow Shell includes a toggle at the top of the boot which works well with or without snow pants in or out of the boot. Temperature-wise the Snow Shell is rated from -30C -> +27C.

Arcata Dash II (Girls): The Arcata Dash is a great boot for both adjustment and style as it has the fuzzy top that makes the boot look less like a rubber boot. It is similar to the Snow Shell in that it does have toggle adjustment (although you can’t secure it as tight as the shell.) The Arcata has a similar tread to some of the adult boots which should ensure good traction no matter what (as always, ice is always ice and enough slippery slush and snow can catch even the best soles in the world.) Temperature-wise the Arcata is rated from -40C -> +16C.

Whiteout Dots (Girls): The Whiteout is a boot offered for both ladies and kids (hence why I will call it girls but it is neutral enough for either.) What’s great about the Whiteout is you get the same sole and the adult’s version which has done very well in rough terrain and in rough conditions (same thing as the Arcata sole I find there is no perfect all the time sole that can defeat ice/extremely slippery surfaces.) The styling is more like the rubber boot but a bit more refined looking and for temperature the Whiteout is rated from -34C -> +21C.

Overall, we’ve really enjoyed what Bogs has brought in terms of insulated boots throughout the years and it only seems to keep improving!
